Vinyl siding is one of the best values on the market in Salt Lake City today. Types of vinyl siding might include lap siding, shingles, shakes, and trim. Vinyl siding is a good option for homeowners on a budget, providing it is of good quality, and installed properly. This becomes an excellent improvement to your home.
Fiber cement Hardie board siding products are cost-effective and versatile, but unlike vinyl siding, will need to be painted and maintained over the years. Hardie siding also comes in several types: lap, shakes, shingles and trim.
LP Smart-Side is a proprietary product with OSB backing which comes in lap, shingles and shakes. This product also requires maintenance and paint, unlike vinyl siding.
Mira-Tec trim is a proprietary product that comes in varying thicknesses and widths to mimic real wood and will also need paint and maintenance. We prefer Mira-Tec trim on all our paintable products.
Wood sidings (untreated) come in all different styles of lap siding, tongue and groove siding, shingles, shakes and trim. In most cases, this is cedar. Wood siding needs to be finished and maintained regularly in order to protect its beautiful natural look.
Thermally modified wood siding such as Thermory and Kebony are real woods and come in a variety of lap siding, tongue and groove, and do not need any maintenance for the life of the products. They are brown when installed and will naturally turn a weathered gray over a three-year period. This process can be interrupted at any time by applying an oil finish. We believe that within a 10-year period, all wood sidings installed on exteriors will be thermally modified products.
Borel is product made primarily of potash and can be used in ground contact situations. It comes in a variety of lap siding styles and needs to be painted. Because of its unique properties, we would also use Borel trim to complete the job.
